Through the life of every Christian the gospel is designed to have a positive effect on the world we live in and to be a blessing to all people. We know that all followers of Jesus have received God’s grace for themselves. Grace is a free gift that we did not earn. So now we want to share that same grace with other people and show God’s love to them, especially to those in need. We care.

The people of Grace Church are involved in many different activities and projects that aim to bring help to the most vulnerable in society. Some of these we do together as a church, some in partnership with other churches or charities, and some are undertaken by church members themselves. There are too many activities to list them all here, but we have brought some of the main ones under the banner ‘GraceWorks’. Scroll down for a sample of what we do!

Fostering and Adoption –  At any given time in the UK there are thousands of children who are waiting to be adopted, and tens of thousands who need foster carers. Many Christians have found that this is a fantastic way of putting the Bible’s encouragement to care for others into practice, and this includes a good number of people who are members of Grace Church. The Bible tells us that God has adopted us as his children – we are a part of his family. What a fantastic way to express God’s heart to our world by fostering or adopting a child. With the help of Home for Good, we offer support and advice to anyone who is considering fostering or adoption or has already embarked on that journey.

Partnering with Compassion – Every day, more than 21,000 children under five die from easily preventable causes. Grace Church has partnered with Compassion UK since February 2009. Our contribution is to fully fund Child Survival programmes in the Philippines.  In 2021 our first project, the Kairos Child Survival Unit near Bacolod City, became a self-sufficient project and we are in the process of beginning support for a new project in the country.

Christians Against Poverty – CAP is a UK-based charity providing advice and assistance to people who need help to get the most out of their finances.  Whether this is as a result of low incomes and changing circumstances, or in order to save for important life events, CAP Money is a free service for anyone to access through Grace Church and many other churches throughout the UK.

Heart for Homelessness Chichester – Members of Grace Church provide practical support for the work of Heart for Homelessness, a charity run by Churches Together in Chichester and spearheaded by Revelation Church.  In addition, Grace Church provides an annual grant towards the continuing work of the service.

Pregnancy Options Centre Chichester – Established in 1997, Pregnancy Options Centre offers a free counselling service for anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy, giving them time and space to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe non-judgemental environment.  They also provide longer-term emotional and practical support for those who are struggling following an abortion or facing pregnancy loss, as well as a school-based education programme.  Members of Grace Church provide counselling resource at the Centre and are also on the board of trustees.  Grace Church also provides financial support through an annual grant.

Prison’s Ministry – Members of Grace Church are actively involved with the Chaplaincy team at HMP Ford and we provide financial support to the Prison Fellowship, a national charity providing Christian resources to prisoners across the UK.  We also provide ongoing support for men as they are released from Ford Prison and become part of Grace Church and local communities.
